Gophers star Ben Utecht buys

Former University of Minnesota football star and NFL player Ben Utecht has bought a home in Lakeville for $1.125 million, according to Dakota County records.

Utecht and his wife, Karyn, bought the five bedroom home from Jeffrey and Giovanna Rud. The Utechts have three young children.

The home is located on a heavily wooded, 5.28 acre lot at 12058 Lucerne Trail.

The county has put a tax assessment value on the house of $658,900, which is down from $744,000 in 2007, according to Zillow.

Utecht , 30, grew up in Hastings, while his wife grew up in Owatonna.
