Astronaut Karen Nyberg's view from space


Minnesota astronaut Karen Nyberg returned to Earth after 166 days on the International Space Station. Following her launch into space on May 28, the Vining native said she adapted very quickly. The adjustment upon her return was a different matter.


The astronauts spent much of their time at the space station conducting experiments, including one in which they studied how magnetic fields can change the properties of fluids. Nyberg said it could lead to some breakthroughs on the ground. Read more of her story here.


An explosion ripped through a three story building in the Cedar Riverside neighborhood of Minneapolis New Year Day morning, igniting a three alarm fire and sending more than a dozen people to area hospitals.

Here in Minnesota we used to freezing temperatures and snowy roads in December. Women's Bradley Roby Jersey Snow plows stand ready. Winter coats are hanging by the door. But in the Middle East, full blown winter is something rare.


The snow shouldn last long thought temps in the region are forecasted to reach the 50s by next week.
